Aliwan Fiesta 2009 is here!!!
The Aliwan Fiesta is just around the corner, they are on their 7th year now. This will be my 4th time to shoot, I first covered the event in 2005 using my Nikon F55 film camera (unfortunately, I can’t find the film now), then in 2007 and last year.
It was a wet Aliwan fiesta last year, it was not a good experience compared to the Aliwan in 2007.
This year’s Aliwan Fiesta will be on April 23-25, a lot of activities are lined up including the Reyna ng Aliwan and the street dancing competition which will be on the 25th. The participating Cities, Municipalities and Provinces are:
- Tondo’s Lakbayaw Festival – Tondo
- Buklod and Kalilintad Festivals – Maguindanao
- Lapay Bantigue – Masbate City
- Karatong Festival -Dulag Leyte
- Buyugan Festival – Abuyog Leyte
- Ibon Ebun Festival – Candaba Pampanga
- Caragan Festival – Mabalacat Pampanga
- Kalilangan Festival – General Santos City
- Pulang-angui Festival – Albay
- Boling-boling Festival – Catanauan, Quezon
- Fiesta de Toros – Batangas
- Kasanggayahan Festival – Sorsogon
- Dinagyang Festival – Iloilo City
- Sinulog Festival – Cebu City
Looks a very exciting line-up, I hope that the weather will be good this time. Aliwan na!!!
