So I went to the nearest fastfood chain to have my lunch, outside the food chain was a classic example of what a ‘normal’ sidewalk looks like. Vendors occupied the place where pedestrians should walk, I still have time to kill so I browsed on what they are selling.

I was particularly looking for some series that I follow, House MD, Cold Case and CSI (Las Vegas), the problem is that I’ve seen them all. I tried looking for some other series that might interest me, then I found Criminal Minds. I’ve seen some episode of the Criminal Minds on Studio 23 (yeps, local TV since I don’t have cable connections), I got pissed when they removed the series and substituted it with those lame European Football games. I grabbed the copies of season 2-5, I felt a little frustrated when they don’t have season 1, after checking some episodes (you know how bad the qualities of these kinds of products are), I went back to the NBI office to wait for the release of my clearance.

I love crime stories, I don’t know why I was so fascinated by it, even the books that I’ve read were either court room drama or crime stories, possibly this was due to my frustration of being a lawyer.

Criminal Minds talks about a particular unit of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) in Quantico, Virginia. They are responsible in ‘profiling’ criminals most specially those involved in serial crimes, I would admit that most of the cases were disturbing.

While watching, I remember what Willie (the kid) told once, ‘kaya walang serial killer na pinoy kasi matatalino sila’, I’ve known Willie to be straight forward, no holds barred talker, just like me, he would never hesitate to tell what’s on his mind.

I would agree with him that serial criminals have exceptional intelligence but let’s not also forget that most of the times the society molds them to be one. They were beaten, neglected, raped, drugged and all other things that created a monster in them, they live in a society where, existence is a daily battle and attention is a privilege. I don’t see that we have those situation now in this country.

I don’t really agree that we are not as intelligent, what we don’t have (yet) is the situation in our society that would help build a monster out of innocent people. I hope we don’t reach that point.

But what I believe to be the biggest achievement ever (as far as media exposure is concern) for Manny is being featured at the Time Asia cover. Pacquiao now joins the few Pinoys who were featured in the cover of the magazine, these are, among others Presidents Manuel Quezon, Manuel Roxas, Ramon Magsaysay, Ferdinand Marcos and Corazon Aquino and environmentalist Chin Chin Gutierrez.

Besides this honor, many is faced with another challenge of being the first boxer to win 7 titles in different weight divisions, he held the championship belt for weight divisions Flyweight (WBC from Chatchai Sasakul in 1998), Super Bantamweight (IBF from Lehlohonolo Ledwaba in 2001), Featherweight (Ring Magazine from Marco Antonio Barrera in 2003), Super Featherweight (Ring Magazine from Brian Mitchell in 2008 and WBC from Juan Manuel Márquez also in 2008), Lightweight (WBC from David Díaz in 2008) and Light Welterweight (Ring Magazine and IBO from David Díaz in 2009) and now targeting the WBO Welterweight belt being held by Miguel Coto.

Manny Pacquioa and Miguel Coto will battle for the WBO Welterweight crown on November 14, 2009 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Nevada, the bout is entitled ‘Firepower.’

I already got my ticket for the event (OK not for Las Vegas but for the live feed in SM Dasmariñas Cinema), I just hope Manny will get this one, for his and our country’s honor.

I was on a bus yesterday en route to Quezon City when I first heard of the news, I checked every news website on the net to check whatever updates on his death but nothing was clear. Even the on live streaming video interview of Jermaine Jackson, nothing was divulged. Until the LA coroner’s office go public with the autopsy results of Michael Jackson’s death, cardiac arrest would remain as his cause of death.

I was a Michael Jackson fan during the 80’s, I could safely say that I grew up hearing his music, songs like Thriller, Beat It & Billy Jean made my feet dance. He would be surely missed by millions of fans all over the world.

It was reported late last night that authorities were hunting Jacko’s doctor in an effort to clear up the mysteries that’s hounding Michael Jackson’s death, including whether prescription drugs could have been a factor.

May the ‘King of Pop’ rest in peace…

All of the 4 documentarist (Howie Severino, Sandra Aguinaldo, Kara David and Jay Taruc) were there to sign the DVD copies and also to answer some questions.


Volume 4 includes 2 documentaries from each of the hosts, what’s good (and first time) about this volume is the inclusion of English sub-title in it. This will be beneficial for those Filipinos abroad which cannot understand the Filipino language.

I also took the opportunity to buy the previous 3 volumes, this will now complete my I-Witness Documentaries.

What’s launch without the actual mingling with the host, they were kind enough to pose with me.

I’m a certified i-Witness fan, each of the hosts bear different personality and approach each time they make a documentary. Truly they make every Monday as Television’s finest hour. More power to the team.

I went to the mall last Sunday to buy some personal stuff, but the moment that I saw the tarpaulin banner on the mall entrance, I decided that I will see them perform live.

I’m talking about Juris Fernandez & Chin Alcantaras’s tandem better known as MYMP (Make your momma proud), they were at the The Event Center of SM City Dasmariñas for the promo tour of their latest album “MYMP Now.”

I must admit that I’m a big fan, in fact I am going to their concert with Side A & Freestyle on December 1, 2008 at the Araneta Coliseum.

I bought the album (with a free poster) for PhP280.00 and asked for their autograph, (walang basagan ng trip!).

Philip Morris was about to sponsor the concert, rumors has it that the company paid the group amounting to P10Million. Everything was doing well until the Department of Health & the Anti-Tobacco group came into picture, they claimed that under the law any tobacco company is barred from sponsoring events like concerts & sports.

This prompted Philip Morris to pull-out its sponsorship of the said event.

Last Monday, Raimund Marasigan confirmed that despite the recent developments, the reunion concert will push through. The venue was moved from CCP Complex in Pasay to The Fort in Taguig and it’ll be a paid concert meaning those tickets from the Marlboro website will not be honored.

The date remained unchanged, it will be on August 30, 2008, according to what I read tickets will sell at P800 & P1,300 and will be available to Ticketworld outlets.

I’ve been hearing a lot about this event for the past 2 months & to tell you the truth I’m not buying it.

But this is a great news for e-heads mania like me, I can say I grew up listening to their beatles sounding music. Finally, Marlboro is bringing back Ely Buendia, Buddy Zabala, Raimund Marasigan & Marcus Adoro in one stage on a 45 minutes gig at the open grounds of the CCP complex.

If what I read was right, it’s more than good news, they are saying that the concert will be free & tickets will be available online sometime in August. Whew! That’s the best news I can get.

Honestly, I believe that it’s about time for them to be together. I’ll keep you all posted regarding this in the future.

Yes, the next lead vocalist of the popular band Journey is a Pinoy named Arnel Pineda, he has been in the music scene for quite a while now, he has been the lead singer of the group Amo & Zoo.

He may not be able to equal Steve Perry but I believe he can make Filipinos like me to be proud of our race & color.
