It’s a go, Pacquiao vs. Hatton on May 2, 2009

After much talk & negotiation, it’s final, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao will battle Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton in Las Vegas on May 2nd, 2009.

The match-up was almost canceled when both parties did not reach any agreement on how much each fighter will received. Pacman’s camp was asking for 60-40 divide in favor [of course] of Pacman, while Hatton’s camp want to cut in in center at 50-50.

Top Rank’s Bob Arum gave Manny’s camp the February 1st deadline to settle the dispute with the Briton’s camp or find another opponent. Earlier today, both camp has reached an agreement of 52-48 divide. A welcome development for boxing fans around the world.

In a television interview, Manny told the reporter that ‘it’s not all about money, but it is about Manny.’ He has all the right to demand, he is the best pound-for-pound boxer in the whole wide world.

As for a die-hard Pacman fan, I would welcome any opponent, I know that Manny will stand to defend his being the best in the world.

Another match to look forward to! I have a lot of respect for our best pound-for-pound boxer. He has made us all proud. I just hope pride and greed won’t overcome him.
