Manila Ocean Park

Manila’s latest buzz is the Manila Ocean Park, patterned after the famous Ocean Parks in Singapore & Hong Kong, Manila’s aquarium won’t be left behind.

The Entrance
I had a chance to visit the Ocean Park behind Quirino Grandstand, although most of the building, i.e. hotel, mall were still under construction, the aquarium was opened about 2 months ago. This is what you will see after paying the 400 Pesos entrance fee.

Fish Tank
I haven’t seen any other aquarium so I can’t compare Manila to any other ocean park, but one thing is for sure, I dropped my jaw the moment I saw these large fish tanks!

3 is a crowd
I’m not that good in identifying these species, hmm… I will try to identify some of them.

Kani
I believe this is the famous Japanese Spider Crab (sarap nito! hehehe!), hmmm.. let me recall how is it called in Japanese, I think crab is Kani in Nihongo.

Taklobo
Taklobo, this is how we call these Giant Clams.

Pagi
Stingray or Mantarey, I don’t know but I know it’s a Pagi. :P

Pating
Of course these are sharks kept in a tank.

The trip & the fee is well worth it, I enjoyed every moment of it, I’m looking forward to the completion of the whole facility, that would be a good time to return.

Kumusta sir! It was a pleasure meeting you at the lunch EB a while ago. Sarap kwentuhan natin with KD kanina, until I received a message na nasa office elevator na yung ka-meeting ko ng 2PM! Haha. Nag-rush tuloy akong umalis.

So ito yung nakwento mong Ocean Park! I have been to the one in HongKong. Yung tunnel nila, umaandar yung floor, parang sa airport. I have been to the one here in Manila as well. Dito ko nakita yung sense ng paglagay nung moving pathway. Marami kasi ang gustong tumambay dun sa tunnel. Yung sa HongKong, hindi pwede kasi umaandar. hehe
