Oh well, it’s Father’s Day
I was watching Eat Bulaga’s Father’s Day special earlier, as usual, there were special greeting from the children of what they call as DadBarkads. The messages and praises to their fathers were touching & I believe were honest, but Bossing Vic Sotto knows how to break the ice, from nowhere, he asked, “wala bang pangit na sasabihin sa amin?” And the audience laughed.
Come to think of it, fathers are not perfect (like anyone of us), in one way or the other they commit mistakes, most of them have gone astray, some dwells on what the society would call as carnal acts. Worst, some of them leaves the household in exchange of another woman. But that does not change the reality, they are still our father.
They can become our most hated person in this world but without them, we won’t be here.
Whatever circumstances that lead them to committing their mistakes, I believe that one day is not enough to honor the people who brought us into this world.
It’s only in an ideal world where people don’t commit mistakes, to all the fathers out there (and to me as well), let us make our children proud. Happy father’s day to all!
