Palaka sa balon
Matagal ko ng narinig ang kwentong ito and I believe that every Mao readers will remember this story.
Ayon sa kwento, mayroon daw dalawang palaka nag-uusap sa loob ng balon. Wika ng isang palaka, “ang mundo ay kasinglaki lang ng butas ng balon.” “Mali ka!” protesta ng isang palaka, “ang mundo ay higit pang malaki kaysa sa butas na iyan” dugtong nito.
Di ko na tatapusin ang kwento, I guess nailahad ko na ang essence nito. Kagabi kasi while I was trying to sleep, di ko maiwasang maikumpara ang kwentong yan sa buhay ko. Maraming pagkaka-tulad hindi man sa pananaw pero sa manner of handling my life.
The people who knew me better would say na parang wala akong kinabukasan. I guess in some points tama sila. Ako kasi, I live each day as it comes, literally! Pag may pera gastusin, pag wala, e di wag gumastos!
Looking back, napapailing na lang ako, I was never a worker ant who religiously worked during the sunny days and kept it in safe storage for the rainy days.
Now that I’m in my mid-life, ngayon ko naisip na sayang. Maraming nasayang na time & resources. Time & resources that were not spent wisely.
I kept on seeing life in a small circle of light which is called now, to think that there’s a bigger tomorrow ahead of me.
“It is better late than never” as they say.
So why not spend your last five years saving money.
Long enough to raise money for a piece of land.
