The man who robbed the Filipino people

To tell you frankly, I don’t think I would ever trust a pre-need company again, our family has been victimized several times, hard earned money that gone to waste (or maybe not, maybe to the pockets of big time robbers). These are not small pre-need companies, these are big time educational and pension plan companies.

Back in 2004, I enrolled in a retirement plan at Platinum Plans, paid the initial payment of PhP5,000.00 and paid its monthly dues religiously. One day (after about 2 years of religiously paying), I heard the bad news, the company sunk into the limbo. Where’s my money? Only God knows, I was working abroad and no one can do the job of checking it for me.

Case number 2, 3 of my siblings purchased an educational plan for each of my pamangkins, 2 of which were paid in full and one was only on its 2nd year when CAP (College Assurance Plan) said that they can continue paying their plan holders.

Wadapak!

Now, here comes Celso delos Angeles shutting down the Legacy Group which operates several pre-need firm, investment companies and rural banks. Celso’s company went bankrupt while his pocket became bulging, he owns an island in Leyte (Kalanggaman Island), almost a hundred cars, and many more properties. So where have all the money gone?

What’s in store to the thousands of investors, plan holders and depositors conned by Celso & his gang? I hope Celso would follow Bernie Madoff’s example of pleading guilty for stealing, I wish there’s still some goodness in his heart to accept how evil he has been.
