The Panic That Typhoon Ondoy Created

After the devastation that typhoon Ondoy brought to the metropolis, everybody seemed to acquire some level of paranoia (or panic attack). Just this afternoon, we were dismissed early from work, news reports have warned about the incoming typhoon Pepeng, according to the reports, Pepeng is much stronger than Ondoy.

I left the office at 4PM, good thing I was able to get into the bus fast, while traveling, I witnessed how people panicked, there were more vehicles on the road than usual, commuters rushing home and the trains were filled with passengers hoping to get home before Pepeng makes his landfall. I took some video clips of my long grueling travel using my iPhone 3Gs.

The usual 2 and a half ride home became 4 long hours of tiring journey, I was awake the whole duration of the travel, there’s a low level of chaos inside the bus, everybody seems to be calling their loved ones home to assure that they’re fine and will be home soon.

Coastal Road were clogged by vehicles, everybody wants to go home early, maybe only because of the incoming storm but since it’s a weekend, an opportunity to be with the family early.

I just hope that Pepeng will not be as bad as Ondoy…
