Yet another lightbox

I blogged about a DIY (do-it-yourself) lightbox/tent before, honestly, I find it a little complicated since it involves a lot of materials not to mention the measuring and cutting that goes with it.

It prompted me to finding a little less complicated way of having a lightbox, something readily available and no assembly needed. So, while the Denver Nuggets is butchering my favorite team (Los Angeles Lakers), I came up with an idea, it’s not really an original idea, I saw somebody using this (I can’t remember where, but thanks anyway).

Presenting, my (yet) another DIY lightbox:
The Set-up

Excuse the mess in my dining table, that’s what you get when you’re living alone, no one messes up but me. Anyways, the set-up is simple, its a plastic container, nothing fancy. The container will serve as the light diffuser, like the cloth that was in my first light tent.

As usual I needed two (2) SB-800 placed on each side, for the background, I took the service the white side of an illustration board, and that basically it. Since Nikon D80 is equipped with the exclusive Nikon CLS (Creative Lighting System), I won’t be needing any remote trigger for the flash.

I played in-between f8 to f14 for the aperture, stayed at 1/100 for the shutter speed, set the ISO at 100 and started shooting for samples.

Not bad at all, I took several shots, in fact I took photos of my whole die-cast car collection which I’ll be posting in a new blog that I created about my die-cast car collection.
